Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 8.9% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 840,315 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked 39,459 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,451 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 847,226 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 8.8% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 30.3% of total generation, while solar and lignite contributed 19.2% and 11.2%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,878 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,845 megawatt-hours.
