Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.5% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,153,672 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,343 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,879 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,160,739 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of about 1.5% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 22.7% of total generation, while imported coal and solar power plants contributed 19.6% and 15.7%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,710 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,516 megawatt-hours.
