Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 0.7% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,003,222 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked 47,456 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,202 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,009,203 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of 0.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 23.6% of total generation, while solar and natural gas plants contributed 17.8% and 13%, respectively.
Daily electricity generation from solar energy in Türkiye reached its highest level of the year on June 11, at 179,420 megawatt-hours. The previous highest level of solar-powered electricity generation this year was recorded on June 1 at 172,549 megawatt-hours.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,721 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,661 megawatt-hours.
