Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.5% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,167,747 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 55,449 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity consumption dropped to the lowest level of 38,595megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,168,546 megawatt-hours on Friday marking a fall of about 0.38% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from imported coal accounted for around 18.9% of total generation, while imported dam-based hydroelectricity plants and wind power plants contributed 18.8% and 16.4%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,768 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 7,957 megawatt-hours.
