Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 8.4 % on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 833,010 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,122 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,343 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 833,998 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of about 8.9% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 34.1% of total generation, while wind and solar contributed 18.2% and 13.2%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 6,840 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 5,770 megawatt-hours.
