Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 0.4% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 948,473 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,519 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,164 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 956,487 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of about 0.5% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from hydroelectric power plants accounted for around 21.4% of total generation, while imported coal and solar plants contributed 21.1% and 14.8%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,480 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 988 megawatt-hours.
