Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 10.6% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 805,364 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,977 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,562 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 815,921 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 10.4% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 36.7% of total generation, while wind and lignite plants contributed 14.6% and 11.6%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,963 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,333 megawatt-hours.
