Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 8.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 848,099 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,387 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,111 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 858,451 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 8.4% compared to the previous day.
Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 33.5% of total production, while imported coal plants and wind power plants contributed 12.7% and 11.5%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,194 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,754 megawatt-hours.
