Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 6.38% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 946,925 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,047 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,351 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 951,799 megawatt-hours on Wednesday marking a rise of about 6.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 34.9% of total generation, while wind energy and natural gas contributed 12% and 11.5%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 10,300 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 5,074 megawatt-hours.
