Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 809,156 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,195 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,548 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 812,514 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 12.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 31.01% of total generation, while solar and wind energy plants contributed 13.5% and 11.9%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,934 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,530 megawatt-hours.
