Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 8.9% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 731,838 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 34,300 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 25,198 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 736,989 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a fall of about 9.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 35.9% of total generation, while solar and lignite plants contributed 19.4% and 12.6%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,672 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,190 megawatt-hours.
