Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 8.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 828,628 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,825 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,983 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 835,583 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 8.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 36.1% of total generation, while solar and wind contributed 15.3% and 10.6%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 11,790 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,994 megawatt-hours.
