Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 2.5% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 666,129 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 31,997 megawatt-hours at 1 p.m. local time (1000 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 22,252 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 683,718 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of about 3.4% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 40.6% of total generation, while solar and lignite plants contributed 16.8% and 10.8%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 22,812 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,822 megawatt-hours.
