Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.2% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 649,522 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 30,433 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 24,021 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 661,522 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a fall of about 10.2% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 38.1% of total generation, while solar and lignite plants contributed 20.9% and 12.1%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 17,241 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,903 megawatt-hours.
