Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 10.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 763,748 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,191 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,772 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 767,909 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 10.6% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 32.4% of total generation, while solar and lignite plants contributed 17.1% and 13.5%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,567 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,373 megawatt-hours.
