Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 13.8% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 977,239 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,602 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,381 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 971,144 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 13.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 31.6% of total production, while imported coal plants and run-of-river hydropower plants contributed 13% and 12.8%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,914 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,627 megawatt-hours.
