Türkiye's energy import bill increased by 28.4% to $6.51 billion in April, compared to the same month in 2025, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Friday.
The country's energy import bill totaled $5.07 billion in March.
The data shows that the overall import bill for April, including energy and other items, totaled $33.9 billion.
At $6.51 billion, energy accounted for 19.2% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in April.
Crude oil imports saw a 14.9% increase to 2.62 million tons in April, compared to 2.28 million tons in April 2025.
