Türkiye's energy import bill decreased by 19.6% to $5.13 billion in January, compared to the same month in 2025, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Thursday.
The country's energy import bill totaled $6.38 billion last January.
The data shows that the overall import bill for the month, including energy and other items, totaled $28.69 billion.
At $5.13 billion, energy accounted for 17.9% of the overall import figures in Türkiye in January.
Crude oil imports saw an increase of 12.8% to 2.66 million tons in January, compared to 2.41 million tons in January 2025.
