Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 4.6% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 813,587 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,745 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,777 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 819,921 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of about 4.32% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 38.1% of total generation, while wind and lignite contributed 20.1% and 10.1%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,721 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,290 megawatt-hours.
