Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 10.6 % on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 789,968 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,604 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,497 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 794,763 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 10.6% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 32.8% of total generation, while solar and lignite contributed 17.6% and 12%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 10,619 megawatt-hours and imports total 5,226 megawatt-hours.
