Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 11.9% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 905,817 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,956 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,674 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 907,771 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of about 11.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 31.5% of total generation, while solar and lignite plants contributed 15% and 11.9%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,403 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 5,446 megawatt-hours.
