Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 1.6% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 969,699 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,948 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,806 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 976,024 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of about 1.8% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydro plants accounted for around 31.8 % of total generation, solar energy plants and imported coal contributed 12% and 11.2%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 2,531 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 8,868 megawatt-hours.
