Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.9% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 957,784 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,239 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 33,123 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 966,511 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a fall of about 1.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 31.2% of total production, while solar power plants and imported coal plants contributed 11.9% and 11.6%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,293 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 673 megawatt-hours.
