Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 7.9% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,126,668 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 54,374 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,366 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,138,164 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a rise of about 8% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for 23.9% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity plants contributed 20.7% and 13.4%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 13,460 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,971 megawatt-hours.
