Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 8.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 875,299 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,666 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,553 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 887,584 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 8.4% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 27.5% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 26.5% and 14%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,247 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 116 megawatt-hours.
