Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 1.5% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 986,424 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,253 megawatt-hours at 10 a.m. local time (0700 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,543 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 991,816 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a fall of about 1.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 26.2% of total production, while wind power plants and imported coal plants contributed 20% and 11.4%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,120 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,481 megawatt-hours.
