Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 849,540 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,846 megawatt-hours at 19.00 local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,083 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 848,696 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.2% decrease compared to Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 24.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.1% while wind plants comprised 17.2%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 12,118 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 13,062 megawatt-hours.
