Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 11.86% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 901,474 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,557 megawatt-hours at 03.00 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,275 megawatt-hours at 05.00 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 885,983 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking an increase of 12.44% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29.9% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 22.4% and 12.9%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 6,521 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 22,011 megawatt-hours.
