Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 18.2% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,056,642 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,969 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,361 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,067,311 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of 17.9% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas accounted for around 28.3% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind plants contributed 21.1% and 15%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 13,315 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,681 megawatt-hours.
