Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 1.04% to 708,642 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 33,181 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 24,655 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 694,886 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 1.62% decrease compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 158,448 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity plants and lignite plants followed 143,888 megawatt-hours and 107,962 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 242 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 13,998 megawatt-hours.
