Turkey's daily electricity consumption decreased by 10.4% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 846,303 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,041 megawatt-hours at 19.00 local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,954 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 848,135 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 10.4% decrease compared to Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.3% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.4% while wind power plants comprised 16.3%.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,437 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,918 megawatt-hours.
