Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 2% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,049,137 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 51,368 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,741 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,059,925 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a rise of 2% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 31.6% of total generation, while imported coal and wind plants contributed 21.2% and 13.6%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,191 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,414 megawatt-hours.
