Iran signed agreements worth around $10 billion with German, Russian, Chinese, South Korean, Japanese and Turkish companies for the construction of new power plants in the post sanctions era, Alireza Daemi, the deputy energy minister said on Monday.
According to Iran's semi official Mehr News Agency, Daemi reminded that Iran signed a preliminary agreement with Turkish company Unit International for constructing an electricity power plant, on which he noted a final agreement would be reached toward March.
Turkey's Unit International and Iran, in June 2016, signed an agreement worth $4.2 billion to build seven gas power plants in Iran which will have 6,020 megawatts of combined installed capacity.
Daemi also noted that Iran signed a final agreement with Germany's Siemens to supply turbines for power plants.
In September 2016, the company transferred firs gas turbines for the Bandar Abbas power plant in Iran.
During the post sanctions period, Iran started to negotiate with international companies to renew the country's electricity generation infrastructure.
