Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 9.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 973,736 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,303 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,898 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 982,943 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 9.5% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for 19.9% of total generation, while wind energy and natural gas plants contributed 17% and 16%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 15,222 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 6,015 megawatt-hours.
