Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 3.5% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 966,794 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,901 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 35,542 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 973,812 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of about 3.4% compared to the previous day.
Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 26.7% of total production, while imported coal and wind power plants contributed 17.6% and 13.3%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 13,350 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 6,161 megawatt-hours.
