Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 2.1% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 951,936 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,440 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 34,412 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 960,561 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a fall of about 2.2% compared to the previous day.
Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 26.6% of total production, while wind and imported coal contributed 17.7% and 14.1%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 11,898 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,779 megawatt-hours.
