Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 1.7% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,096,778 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 51,033 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 36,771 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,099,100 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a fall of about 1.3% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for 21.6% of total generation, while natural gas and wind plants contributed 18.9% and 18.1%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,234 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,912 megawatt-hours.
