Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.8% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 994,234 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,135 megawatt-hours at 10 a.m. local time (0700 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 35,335 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,000,372 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a fall of about 0.8% compared to the previous day.
Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 23.1% of total production, while imported coal and natural gas plants contributed 17.1% and 14.6%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,951 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,885 megawatt-hours.
