Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.4% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,001,442 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,785 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 35,403 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,008,305 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of about 0.3% compared to the previous day.
Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 25.1% of total production, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 17.7% and 10.7%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 11,371 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,701 megawatt-hours.
