Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 2.8% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,205,315 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 57,451 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity consumption dropped to the lowest level of 39,446 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,210,460 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a rise of about 3% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 20.9% of total generation, while imported coal and natural gas plants contributed 19.4% and 16.2%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,634 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,628 megawatt-hours.
