Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 0.8% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,215,143 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 58,252 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 40,290 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,217,216 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of about 0.6% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 20.5% of total generation, while imported coal and natural gas contributed 18.9% and 18%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,028 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 6,900 megawatt-hours.
