Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 3.6% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,159,679 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 54,773 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 39,638 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,162,186 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of about 3.4% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 19.9% of total generation, while dam-based hydroelectricity and solar plants contributed 19% and 15.2%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,973 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 5,394 megawatt-hours.
