Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.2% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 935,370 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,516 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,803 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 940,850 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of about 10.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 19.5% of total generation, while dam-based hydroelectricity and solar power plants contributed 18.3% and 17.7%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 4,924 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 10,439 megawatt-hours.
