Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.9% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,203,219 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 57,002 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 40,456 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,202,902 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a decrease of about 1.2% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 20.2% of total generation, while imported coal and natural gas contributed 19.4% and 12.5%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,599 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 7,998 megawatt-hours.
