Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.54% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 916,808 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,814 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,706 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 892,974 megawatt-hours on Wednesday marking a decrease of 1.81% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 25.45% of total generation, while wind plants and lignite plants contributed 23.57% and 14.39% respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 3,764 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 27,598 megawatt-hours.

The country produced 210,466 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity from wind farms on Wednesday, ranking 2nd among electricity generation sources.
The previous record was set on Dec.17, when the country produced 208,94 MWh of electricity from wind.
