Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 12.9% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,006,129 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,068 megawatt-hours at 5 p.m. local time (1400 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,725 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,000,481 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a fall of about 11.8% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 23% of total generation, while natural gas and wind plants contributed 21.3% and 14.8%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,047 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 12,703 megawatt-hours.
