Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 10% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 792,081 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 36,572 megawatt-hours at 10.00 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,685 megawatt-hours at 07.00 a.m, local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 873,303 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 10.2% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from wind energy plants constituted 20% of total generation, while hydro power plants and lignite plants contributed 17% and 14.9%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 6,730 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 15,022 megawatt-hours.
