Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 886,962 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,640 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,368 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 901,926 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of about 11.4% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 24.2% of total generation, while natural gas and wind plants contributed 18.7% and 14.4%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 15,704 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 742 megawatt-hours.
