Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 15.23% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 924,207 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,855 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,082 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 922,095 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 15.4% increase compared to Sunday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.2% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 22% while lignite plants comprised 15.1%.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,973 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,648 megawatt-hours.
