Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.45% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 966,213 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 46,101 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,707 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 966,579 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 1.58% increase compared to Tuesday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.3% while wind power plants comprised 16.2%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,727 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,553 megawatt-hours.
